Food Intolerance Testing

The total cost of the test, including the vitamin and mineral analysis, is £120. On booking, you will be required to pay a £40 non-refundable deposit to secure the booking.

The test can take up to 1 hour.

What does the test involve?
Firstly you will be given a brief questionnaire, this will be in reference with any medical issues you may have. I will then begin the test - this is a completely painless, non-invasive test. A circuit is made with the instruments, that enable the machine to pick up on a certain type of energy. I then incorporate a food/substance ampoule into the circuit, if it does not agree with you, it will generate an abnormal reading which is known as a resistance. The accuracy of the test is 75-80% but the elimination diet is known to have an accuracy rate of 100%. You will generally only need to have the one test, unless requested otherwise.

What are the most common food intolerances?
The most common food intolerances are wheat, dairy, yeast and sugar.

What are the common symptoms?
Common symptoms are bloating, IBS, skin problems, lack of energy, headaches, hormonal problems and weight issues. There are many other problems that can be created by Food Intolerances that may not be listed.

What happens after the test?
After the test I will suggest alternatives if required and discuss the process of the elimination diet. Furthermore, I will recommend suitable supplements to address the results of the Vitamin and Mineral Analysis and to also maintain general health and wellbeing.

To carry out this test I will be using a Dietx machine, which is an electro dermal screening (EDS) machine.

A little history...

In the 1950s a German Doctor, Dr Reinhold Voll discovered that acupuncture points had a lower electrical resistance than other points on the skin. As a result, he created a device that enabled him to measure the skins resistance at these points and found that healthy people had a standard measurement. An increase from a normal reading indicated inflammation in tissues connected with that point, a decrease from a normal reading implied there was fatigue or degeneration in the tissues connected with that point. These methods and technologies initiated by Dr Voll became known as EAV (Electro acupuncture according to Voll); It is also known as electro dermal screening.
